Elisabeth W. Kallen was born in Berlin around 1900 and she was last active in 1958. Not much seems to be known about this enigmatic artist.

Kallen exhibited in March 1918 in the Berlin gallery "Der Sturm". She was a member of the November group and was present at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1920 and 1921.

The famous theologian Paul Tillich dedicated his book "The Religious Situation of the Present" to her in 1926.
